In the remote and mountainous areas of the state, a new bike ambulance service has been started. Health Minister Dr. Deepak Sawant has taken this initiative forward and constantly been working to make this happen. After this service began in Mumbai, in the last 5 months itself, more than 1000 lives have been saved. Narrow lanes and hillocks, where ambulances cannot reach, these bike ambulances reach easily and therefore help save lives. The bike ambulance service had started on 1st August 2017, in the presence of Shivsena President Uddhav Thackeray and Health Minister Dr. Deepak Sawant.
